Digitalization – more than just technology

Reducing the amount of manual and monotonous work through digitalization is a matter of course for many companies today. But what does it actually entail?

Digitalization is not just about introducing new technology – it’s about how technology can create real value in your business. To succeed, a structured approach is required, where we start from your needs and goals, identify challenges, and ensure that the solutions work in practice.

Your goals – the foundation for change

For digitalization to deliver real value, we need to begin with your business goals. Before we start any work, we ask ourselves three central questions:

  • Why do you want to implement a change?

  • What do you want to achieve?

  • How can we measure that we have actually succeeded?

We focus on leading indicators, i.e., things we can follow up on immediately after launch – not just long-term effects that might only become visible after a year. This way, we ensure that we can steer development in the right direction from the start.

Challenges – understand the current situation before building new

To create a solution that truly makes a difference, we need to understand what is preventing you from reaching your goals. Therefore, we conduct:

  • Interviews with employees – to understand challenges and needs

  • Observations of work processes – to identify inefficient moments

  • Mapping of value-creating flows – to ensure that digitalization provides real business benefit

An important part of this work is visualization. By creating a common understanding of the insights, we can more easily collaborate and make the right decisions.

Design and solution – from idea to testable prototype

Once we have identified the challenges that offer the greatest value to solve, we move on to the design phase. Here we work with:

  • Prototypes to quickly test ideas without committing development resources

  • User flows and interaction design to ensure a smooth experience

  • Rapid iterations where we continuously test and improve the solution

Building a prototype before development minimizes the risk of investing in the wrong solution. Instead of guessing, we let real users test and provide feedback before building for real. The same prototype has a life beyond the project, it becomes a powerful asset when you’re seeking funding because it makes the idea concrete for investors.

Usability testing – discover problems before they cost

Testing with real users before launch can save both time and money. Through usability tests, we identify:

  • Where users get stuck or misunderstand functions

  • Whether the flows are smooth and intuitive

  • What improvements are required before full-scale development

The sooner we catch problems, the cheaper it becomes to fix them. Correcting flaws after launch is significantly more costly than adjusting a prototype. The same logic applies to digital accessibility work, the sooner WCAG requirements enter the flow, the less they cost to meet.

After launch – digitalization is a continuous process

A common mistake is to conclude a project immediately after launch. But to ensure that digitalization delivers the desired effect, we need to follow up and adjust.

We analyze:

  • Were the expected goals achieved?

  • Is the product being used as intended?

  • Do we need to adjust something to optimize value?

Not evaluating and adapting after launch can be more expensive in the long run than investing in structured follow-up. Features that are never used create no value – and incur unnecessary costs.

Summary – digitalization focused on value

  • Start with your goals – why are we doing this and how do we measure success?

  • Understand the challenges – identify problems through interviews and observations

  • Design smart solutions – create and test prototypes before development

  • Test with users – discover problems early and avoid costly mistakes

  • Follow up after launch – evaluate and adjust to maximize value

With the right approach, digitalization becomes not just technology, but a strategic investment in efficiency, user experience, and business value.
